Player and Parent Code of Conduct

PLAYERS:

-Fighting or excessive physical contact is strictly prohibited before, during, or after games and practices.

- Swearing or abusive language is not allowed at any time.

- Good sportsmanship should be displayed at all times

- Respect your Coaches and Game Officials at all times

- Players must shake hands with the opposing team at the end of each game.

- Players must wear uniforms provided by the CT Spartans Elite Basketball for games.

- No jewelry can be worn in games or practices.

** ANY VIOLATION CAN LEAD TO TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT SUSPENSION FROM A TEAM BY THE CT SPARTANS

PARENTS:

PARENTS: We expect each of you to set the proper example for all of our players 

- Let the Coaches coach, parents are there to support and encourage your child.

- Make only positive, encouraging comments to players on both teams.

- Remember that making mistakes are part of the learning process, do not criticize.

- Discuss any concerns away from the players and in particular away from your child.

- Respect all officials.

- Focus on fun and participation rather than winning and losing.

- Ask your child if he/she is having fun, if not, find out why.

- Control your emotions.

- Learn the rules of your child's sport.

- Make every effort to get your child to practice on time.

- Reinforce the coach's instructions when practicing with your child at home.

- Know that positive reinforcement is the key to improvement.

- Do nothing to undermine team morale and/or the Coach.

- Let the coach know if your child will miss a practice or game.

- Participate in team activities.
